Troparion for the Resurrection in Tone 2:

When Thou didst submit Thyself unto death, O Thou deathless and immortal One, then Thou didst destroy hell with Thy Godly power. And when Thou didst raise the dead from beneath the earth, all the powers of Heaven did cry aloud unto Thee: O Christ, Thou giver of life, glory to Thee.

عندما انحدرتَ إلى الموت، أيُّها الحياةُ الذي لا يموت، حينئذٍ أمتَّ الجحيمَ ببرقِ لاهوتِك. وعندما أقمتَ الأمواتَ من تحتِ الثَّرى، صرخَ نحوكَ جميعُ القوَّاتِ السَّماوِّيين: أيُّها المسيحُ الإله، معطي الحياةِ، المجدُ لك.

Troparion of St. Nicholas in Tone 4:

Thy work of justice did reveal thee to thy community as a canon of faith, the likeness of humility and the teacher of abstinence, O thou Father and great Bishop Nicholas. Wherefore, by humility thou didst achieve exaltation, and by thy meekness wealth. Intercede, therefore, intercede with Christ that He will save our souls.

لقد أظهرَتْك أفعال الحق لرعيتك، قانوناً للإيمان، وصورةً للوداعة، ومعلمًا للإمساك، أيها الأب رئيس الكهنة نيقولاوس. فلذلك أحرزت بالتواضع الرفعة وبالمسكنة الغنى. فتشفَّع إلى المسيح الإله أن يخلّص نفوسنا.

في ميلادك حفظت البتولية وصنتها، وفي رقادك ما أهملت العالم وتركته يا والدة الإله، لأنك انتقلت إلى الحياة بما أنك أم الحياة، فبشفاعاتك أنقذي من الموت نفوسنا.

Kontakion for the Preparation of Christ’s Nativity in Tone 3:

Today the Virgin cometh to the cave where she will give birth in an ineffable manner to the Word Who is before all the ages. Rejoice, therefore, O universe, when thou hearest it heralded: Glorify Him, with the angels and the shepherds, Who chose to be seen as a new-born babe, the God Who is before all the ages.

أليوم العذراء تأتي إلى المغارة لتلد الكلمة الذي قبل الدهور ولادة لا تفسَّر ولا ينطق بها. فافرحي أيتها المسكونة إذا سمعت، ومجِّدي مع الملائكة والرعاة الذي سيظهر بمشيئته طفلاً جديداً، الإلهَ الذي قبل الدهور.

Epistle (for St. Nicholas)

St. Paul’s Epistle to the Hebrews (13:17-21)

Priest: let us attend. Reader: Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. What shall I render to the Lord for all that He has given me?. Priest: Wisdom. Reader: The Reading is from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Hebrews. Priest: in wisdom let us attend.

Brethren, obey your leaders and submit to them; for they are keeping watch over your souls, as men who will have to give account. Let them do this joyfully, and not sadly, for that would be of no advantage to you. Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things. I urge you the more earnestly to do this in order that Imay be restored to you the sooner. Now may the God of peace Who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in you that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to Whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Gospel (10^th of Luke)

The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke (13:10-17)

At that time, Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years; she was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. And when Jesus saw her, He called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands upon her, and immediately she was made straight, and she praised God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrite! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his ass from the manger, and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” As Jesus said this, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by Him.

فصل من رسالة القديس بولس الرسول إلى العبرانيين (عب 13: 17-21)

كريمٌ بين يدَي الربِ موتُ أبرارِه، بماذا نكافئُ الربَّ عن كلِ ما أعطانا.

يا إخوةُ، أطيعوا مدبِرّيكم واخضَعوا لهم، فانَّهم يَسهرون على نفوسِكم سهرَ مَن سيُعطي حِسابًا حتَّى يفعَلوا ذلك بسرورٍ لا آنِّين. لأنَّ هذا غيرُ نافعٍ لكم. صلٌوا من أجلِنا فإِنّا نثِقُ بأنَّ لنا ضميراً صالحاً، فنرغَبُ في أن نُحسِنَ التصرُّفَ في كلِ شيءٍ. وأطلُبُ بأشدِ إلحاحٍ حتَّى أُرَدَّ اليكم في أسرعِ وقتٍ. وإلهُ السلامِ الذي أعادَ من بينِ الأمواتِ راعيَ الخرافِ العظيمَ بدم العهدِ الأبديّ، ربَّنا يسوعَ، يكمّلُكم في كلِ عملٍ صالِحٍ حتَّى تعمَلوا بِمشيئَتِه عامِلاً فيكم ما هو مَرْضِيٌّ لديهِ بيسوعَ المسيحِ الذي لهُ المجدُ إلى أبدِ الآبدين. آمين.

فصل شريف من بشارة القديس لوقا الإنجيلي البشير والتلميذ الطاهر (لو 13: 10-17)

في ذلك الزمان، كان يسوع يعلّم في أحد المجامع يومَ السبت، وإذا بإمرأةٍ بها روحُ مرضٍ منذ ثماني عَشْرَةَ سنةً، وكانت منحنيةً لا تستطيع أن تنتصبَ البتَّة. فلمَّا رآها يسوع دعاها وقال لها: إنَّك مُطْلَقةٌ من مرضِك. ووضع يدَيه عليها. وفي الحال استقامَتْ ومجَّدتِ الله. فأجاب رئيس المجمع وهو مُغْتاظٌ لإبراءِ يسوعَ في السبتِ وقال للجميع: هي ستَّةُ ايَّام ينبغي العملُ فيها. ففيها تأتون وتَسْتشْفون لا في يوم السبتِ. فأجاب الربُّ وقال: يا مُرائي، أليس كلُّ واحدٍ منكم يَحُلُّ ثورَهُ أو حمارَهُ في السبتِ مِنَ المزودِ وينطلِق بهِ فيسقيه؟ وهذه ابنةُ ابراهيمَ التي رَبَطها الشيطانُ منذ ثماني عَشْرَةَ سنةً، أمَا كان ينبغي أنْ تُطلَقَ مِن هذا الرباط يومَ السبت؟ ولمّا قال هذا خَزِيَ كلُّ مَن كان يُقاومهُ، وفرح الجمْعُ بجميعِ الأمور المجيدةِ التي كانت تَصدُرُ منهُ.
