Troparion for the Resurrection in Tone 6:

When Mary stood at Thy grave, looking for Thy sacred body, angelic powers shone above Thy revered tomb; and the soldiers who were to keep guard became as dead men. Thou led Hades captive and wast not tempted thereby. Thou didst meet the Virgin and didst give life to the world, O Thou, Who art risen from the dead, O Lord, glory to Thee.

إنَّ القوّاتِ الملائكيّةَ ظهروا على قبرك الموَقَّر، والحرّاس صاروا كالأموات، ومريمَ وقفت عندَ القبر طالبةً جسدَك الطاهر، فسَبيْتَ الجحيمَ ولم تُجرَّب منها، وصادفتَ البتول مانحاً الحياة، فيا من قامَ من بين الأمواتِ، يا ربُّ المجدُ لك.

Be thou ready, Zabulon; prepare thyself, O Nephthalim. * River Jordan, stay thy course and skip for gladness to receive * the Sovereign Master, Who cometh now to be baptized. * O Adam, be thou glad with our first mother, Eve; * hide not as ye did of old in Paradise. * Seeing you naked, He hath appeared now * to clothe you in the first robe again. * Christ hath appeared, for He truly willeth to renew all creation.

استعدّي يا زَبُلُون وَتَهَيَّإِي يا نفتاليم، وأنتَ يا نهرَ الأُردُنِّ قِفْ وَأَمْسِكْ عن جَرْيِكَ، وتَقَبَّلِ السيّد بفرح آتياً ليعتمد، ويا آدمُ ابتهِجْ معَ الأُمّ الأُولى، ولا تُخْفِيا ذاتَكما كما اختفَيتُما في الفردوس قديماً. لأنّه لمّا نظرَكما عريانَيْنِ، ظهر لكي يُلبسكما الحلَّة الأُولى. المسيح ظهر مريداً أن يُجدِّدَ الخليقةَ كُلَّها.

في ميلادك حفظت البتولية وصنتها، وفي رقادك ما أهملت العالم وتركته يا والدة الإله، لأنك انتقلت إلى الحياة بما أنك أم الحياة، فبشفاعاتك أنقذي من الموت نفوسنا.

Epistle (Sunday before the Theofany)

2^nd Epistle to St. Timothy (4:5-8)

Priest: let us attend. Reader: O Lord, save Thy people and bless Thine inheritance. Unto Thee will I cry, O Lord my God. Priest: Wisdom. Reader: The Reading is from St. Paul’s second Epistle to St. Timothy. Priest: in wisdom let us attend.

Timothy, my son, always be steady, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Gospel (Sunday before the Theofany)

The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark (1:1-8)

The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way; the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” John the Baptizer appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. And there went out to him all the country of Judea, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. Now John was clothed with camel’s hair, and had a leather girdle around his waist, and ate locusts and wild honey. And he preached, saying, “After me comes He Who is mightier than I, the strap of Whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I have baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

فصل من رسالة القديس بولس الرسول الثانية إلى تيموثاوس (2تيم 4: 5-8)

خلّص يا ربُّ شعبك وبارك ميراثك إليك يا ربُّ أصرخ إلهي.

يا ولدي تيموثاوس، تَيَقَّظْ في كُلِّ شيءٍ واحتملِ المشقَّاتِ، واعمل عمَلَ المبشّر، وأَوْفِ خِدْمَتَك. أمَّا أنا فقد أُريقَ السَّكِيبُ عليَّ ووقتُ انْحِلالي قد اقترب. وقد جاهدتُ الجهادَ الحسنَ وأتممتُ شَوْطي وحفظتُ الإيمان. وإنَّما يبقى محفوظاً لي إكليلُ العدلِ الذي يَجْزِيني بهِ في ذلكَ اليوم الربُّ الديَّانُ العادل. لا إيَّاي فقط، بل جميعَ الذين يُحبُّونَ ظهورهُ أيضاً.

فصل شريف من بشارة القديس مرقس الإنجيلي البشير والتلميذ الطاهر (مر 1: 1-8)

بَدْءُ إنجيلِ يسوعَ المسيحِ ابنِ الله. كما هُوَ مكتوبٌ في الأنبياء، هاءنَذا أُرسِلُ مَلاكي أمامَ وجهِكَ، يُهَيءُ طريقكَ قُدّامَك، صوتُ صارخ في البَرِّيَّةِ أعِدّوا طريقَ الرَبِّ واجعَلوا سُبلهُ قويمةً. كانَ يوحنَّا يُعَمِّدُ في البَريَّةِ ويَكرِزُ بمعموديَّة التوبَةِ لِغفرانِ الخطايا، وكانَ يَخرُجُ إليه جَميعُ أهِلِ بَلدِ اليهوديَّةِ وأورشليمَ فيَعتمِدونَ جَميعُهم مِنهُ في نهرِ الأردُن مُعترفينَ بخطاياهم. وكانَ يوحنا يَلبَسُ وَبْرَ الإبلِ وعلى حَقْوَيهِ مِنطَقَةٌ مِن جِلدٍ، ويَأكلُ جَرَاداً وعَسَلاً بَرِّيّاً، وكانَ يَكرِزُ قائلاً إنَّهُ يأتي بَعدي مَن هُوَ أقوى مِنّي، وأنا لا أستحِقُّ أن أنحنِي وأحُلَّ سَيْرَ حِذائه. أنا عَمَّدتُكم بالماءِ وأمَّا هُوَ فيُعَمِّدُكم بالرُّوحِ القدُس.

أيها الأحباء المحبوبون بالرب أبناء رعية رقاد السيدة العذراء في ميسيساغا،

سلام الرب يسوع المسيح ليكن معكم أجمعين،

في هذه الأيام المباركة وبمناسبة عيديّ ميلاد ربّنا ومخلصنا يسوع المسيح ورأس السنة نتقدم منكم نحن رئيس وأعضاء مجلس الرعية بأطيب التمنيات والتهاني. وفي هذه المناسبة نذكركم بالجهود التي بذلها وما يزال يبذلها أعضاء هذا المجلس والعديد من أبناء هذه الرعية في سبيل إتمام بناء كنيستنا المحروسة بالله. هذه الكنيسة التي لا يمكن لها أن تكون لولا تضافر الجهود بين أعضاء المجلس وكافة أبناء الرعية، ولا يمكن للبناء أن يتمّ دون مساهماتكم الكريمة، نطلب من الله أن يعوّضكم أضعاف ما تنفقون في سبيل الخير. وإذ نشكركم على مساهماتكم الجليلة فإننا ندعوكم كافةً إلى الالتزام أولاً بقداديس الأحد والمشاركة بكل المواسم الصلاتية بحسب جدول الصلوات الذي يُعلن عنه في وقته من خلال النشرة الأسبوعية والفايسبوك والبريد الالكتروني. كما ندعو الجميع أن يمدّوا لنا يد العون والمساعدة من خلال العمل الدؤوب وجمع التبرعات وتشجيع المعارف والأقارب على الالتزام بالكنيسة. كنيستنا هي لجميع أبناء الكنيسة الأنطاكية الأرثوذكسية المقيمين في ميسيساغا والمدن القريبة منها وصولاً إلى هاميلتون.

Beloved in the Lord parishioners of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church in Mississauga,

The Peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all,

During these blessed days we, Pastor, Chairman and all board members, wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. In this occasion we would like to remind you of all the efforts which have been made and still are being made from our board members, committe members and a lot of our parishioners in order to accomplish our new church. This church cannot be without the unification of these efforts and without your generous pledges and commitments. We ask our Lord to grant you back more than what you spend for the good of His Church. After we thank you for your donations, we invite you to commit yourselves in every Sunday Liturgy and in all holiday prayers and events in the church.  All events or programs will be announced on time either in the church, on Facebook or by email. Furthermore, we invite you to help us to double our efforts by encourging your relatives or friends to make monthly pledges or to gather donations to support the building expenses. Our church is serving all Antiochian Orthodox people in the area from Mississauga to Hamilton.

Blessed Nativity Season to you and yours,

 The Elections of the New Antiochian Women Committee is being scheduled for  Sunday, January 10, after church. We welcome all women 19 years and older to come join us. Our purpose is to develop among the women a spirit of Christian leadership, awareness, and commitment; to foster a genuine expression of love and service through works of charity; and to install a sense of fellowship and a deeper understanding of our Holy Orthodox Faith. We are a “Sisterhood Serving Christ Through Serving Others” . All interested candidates are to contact Father Elias as soon as possible (647) 463-9333.
